Festival Rules<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I. GENERAL PROVISIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Article 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0PSSST! SILENT FILM FESTIVAL<\/strong> shows domestic and international silent films of all genres or the films of authors who are willing to remove the audio background of their film in a competition programme. The submitted films must not be older than 3 years and must not exceed duration of more than 30 minutes. The Festival\u2019s organisers will provide a sound accompaniment to each film which will offer the audience a special experience.<\/p>\n

II. PROGRAMME COUNCIL<\/strong><\/p>\n

Article 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every year the organisers will form a Programme Council for the needs of that year\u2019s Festival. The Programme Council is responsible for compiling the competition and side programme. Programme decisions are made in agreement with the Festival\u2019s organisers and in accordance with the financial possibilities.<\/p>\n

Every year a Programme Council appoints:
\n\u2013\u00a0Selection Committe<\/strong>\u00a0that selects films to be screened in the competition programme
\n\u2013\u00a0Competition programme Jury<\/strong>\u00a0that selects the best film of the competition programme<\/p>\n

The best film in the competition programme is awarded the Brcko Grand Prize.<\/p>\n

The Audience Award is made by the audience by completing voting forms.<\/p>\n

III. PROGRAMME AND CONDITIONS FOR SUBMISSION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Article 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

Films may be submitted by directors, producers, institutions or other legal persons with representation rights to the films. Only films which have no audio component may participate in the Festival. Films should be submitted via the Festival\u2019s website. Films should be submitted via mail to the Festival\u2019s address (DVD screener readable in all regions),\u00a0Vimeo<\/strong>\u00a0(https:\/\/vimeo.com\/<\/a>) or\u00a0Dropbox<\/strong>\u00a0(https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n

There is no charge for submitting a film.<\/p>\n

IV. SENDING FILMS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Article 4<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sending via Festhome:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sending via Vimeo or Dropbox:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The link and user information for downloading the film should be sent via e-mail\u00a0pssst.silent.film@gmail.com<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>The requested film format is\u00a0MP4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The organiser is obliged to preserve all submitted films in the Festival\u2019s archive and to use them exclusively for documentary, educational and cultural purposes. If the organiser should lose or damage a copy, he is responsible for covering the material and labour costs of making a new projection or archive copy.<\/p>\n

The Selection Commission retains the right to refuse a copy which is of poor technical quality or in a format different from that stated above which could cause problems during projection.<\/p>\n

The deadline for submitting films<\/strong>\u00a0for the competition programme is\u00a0October 24th<\/strong>,\u00a0 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

V. DIRECTORS\u2019 GUEST APPEARANCES<\/strong><\/p>\n

Article 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Directors with films entered in the competitive programme of the Festival will be invited to be the Festival\u2019s guests. The Festival organisers will contact the directors.<\/p>\n

VI. CONCLUDING PROVISIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Article 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

These rules are written in Croatian and in English. In the event of a lack of clarity, the Croatian version will be used as the starting point in interpreting the text. Any points that are not covered by these rules will be considered directly by the Festival organisers.
